Mármaro

Mármaro, a project focusing on the Greek Parthenon Sculptures, is intended to bring a new light to these historic artefacts. By producing abstract images of these sculptures, the project explores the ideas of provenance and changing meanings over time. Mármaro comments on the social and political arguments surrounding the sculptures in the present day. I am committed to bringing a new sympathetic aesthetic to these ancient and familiar works. By using digital photography, I aim to explore the time-worn surfaces of these sculptures, enhanced by the decision to crop my photographs so they become an abstract work of art.
